Integration Objectives
Creating the integration initiatives for the journey ahead
This course is part of the Certified Acquisition Integration Manager program
This course covers the core of the SSIM™, the Small business Simple Integration Method, a simplified approach to planning and delivering the integration of an acquired small or mid-size business. Integration Objectives are the initiatives that define the emphasis, or focus areas, for the journey ahead. This course describes how to identify those objectives, based upon the reason that a business is acquired, and how these fit into the SSIM™ as a whole.
Objectives are the "rally cry" and direction of an integration that is about to begin.
This course teaches you how to create objectives that align with the reasons for acquiring and give focus for the integration journey.
Integration Objectives covers the following topics
- How do you start an integration?
- Identifying the strategic reasons for acquiring
- The SSIM™, the Small business Simple Integration Method
- The importance of the mission statement
- How are integration objectives different to the reasons for acquiring a business?
- What are the differences between company-wide and workstream objectives?
- How do you derive the integration objectives from the reasons for acquiring?
This course contains two examples of fictional acquisition integrations to demonstrate how the company-wide and workstream objectives are created.
