Bentley Systems acquired Hevacomp Ltd. to expand its portfolio of building services design software. Hevacomp, based in Sheffield, England, specialized in energy analysis, heating and cooling load calculations, pipe and duct sizing, and electrical system design. This analysis improved the design of heating ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC), analysis of building energy efficiency for LEED compliance and complex heat/cooling analysis of rooms using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). Their products offered both a holistic analysis of heat and cooling of whole buildings, while also offering detailed analysis of individual room configurations.

The acquisition aimed to integrate Hevacomp’s capabilities into Bentley’s Building Information Modeling (BIM) solutions, giving a one-product solutions that help architects and building engineers design more energy-efficient buildings.

Integration

Program Managed the integration of this software technology business. Set up the program and coordinating with R&D teams, professional services, sales, marketing and IT. Nine workstreams were created and managed.

Significant issues included:

  • Launching a new product to market, during the integration
