Exor Corporation

We are surrounded by linear networks such as roads, rails, power or water lines. The Exor product (now part of Bentley Systems’ Asset Lifecycle Information Management (ALIM)) platform specializes in keeping track of all of the assets along a linear network, for example lamposts, signals and signs, accident incidents, property ownership, and maintenance records.

At the time of the acquisition of Exor by Bentley Systems, their headquarters was in Bristol, UK, with a major R&D office in Manchester, UK. It had a significant presence in the UK, Australia, the USA, and remote workers across the rest of Europe. The Exor product uses an Oracle platform, allowing thousands of users accessing a single database at one time. At the time of the integration, Exor software was used to manage more than 1,000,000 miles of road with asset values totaling more than $750 billion.

Integration

Program Managed the integration of this software business. Set up and monitored the numerous projects within the program. 22 teams were involved, each with their own collection of projects to be coordinated. Teams included development, Professional Services, server and desktop IT, Finance, facilities, and three separate HR departments (each in it’s own global region).

Exor became the founding team in a new Operations team for the acquiring company. This required an internal communications plan to educate colleagues and explain how the market worked.
